Blackbird
I have been practicing up a storm and learned another piece which is one of my favorite Beatles songs. I have no shame, and I'll share it with you. The thing is, I used to be ashamed of playing music. I originally learned this piece over 5 years ago when I first started playing but never perfected it enough to finish the entire song. Five years without playing guitar and it's as if I hadn't stopped. There's a music phenomenon where if you visualize yourself playing an instrument, or think about it in such a way as if you haven't stopped playing (in essence, MISS IT), you will actually seem to improve the next time you pick up the instrument! This happened to me the summer before my sixth grade year when I was visiting the Philippines. I was still trying to figure out how to play with vibrado on the violin and I just didn't "get it" yet. There are finger exercises you can do without the instrument to practice vibrado so I was doing it sporadically during my summer vacation, but I missed playing violin. Finally, when I got home, one of the first things I did was pick up my violin and just like magic, I played a note with perfect vibrado. It was amazing! Vibrado is something that just clicks eventually and after nearly 3 months of being gone, it clicked.
Three months... five years... same difference right?
(Also, is it just me, or do I look like the asian girl version of The Man With the Yellow Hat on Curious George? I love it.)

You're a far better guitar player than you think, my dear. In fact, I just decided that you have to keep your guitar. You can't sell it.
